Thanks Tony,
I fell into the trap of the page annotator focused mainly on the Wyon and BW printings. rodney "Asia-translation" wrote in message ... Sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings, Rodney: they're just SG O44s. SG O45 is overprinted on the POSTAGE stamps, Type 6, not on the POSTAGE & REVENUE types, Type 8. There are a couple of types of Hyderabad CDS with Romanized place names. The type with the name in the lower arc is more common; the type with the name in English and Urdu in the upper arc is less common, and apparently only sighted from one PO. Nayeem's 'Hyderabad Philatelic History' is decidedly not the most user-friendly volume on my shelves (no index, clunky numbering of illustrations, which are nowhere near the accompanying text, and so on), but 'Manam' seems to ring a distant bell. Couldn't find it on a thumb through, though. Tony |
