Default "In The Mail" Not!!! ????

I surely hope all will forgive a little diatribe, but I do believe it is
autograph related, and to the wonderful groups of posters that are on these
groups I am sure they can relate.

I have received an inordinate amount of off group e-mails regarding this and
that about the why's and the who are they's some incredibly negative stuff. So
I figure I would respond with one general post.

First, My name is ken I have been collecting for about ten years, but only
since 1998 thru the mail and that is only because my wife found the newsgroups
and much to her chagrin brought me to a new world. Up til then I only
collected racing autographs, now I collect autographs.

I collect through the mail, I attend many shows, charity dinner's and also the
impromptu in person by the exit door of somewhere I know someone may be.

I consider myself an autograph collector. Not a sports, not a celebrity, not a
politician, but a collector of signators. Hopefully my posts help once in a
while.

In regards to who, it is all. While some posts have commented on the lack of
knowing who my posts are I think that is all pretty irrelevant unless you are
collecting the same way I am.

For example, If someone were to post many of the 1980 Olympic Mens Hockey team
I wouldn't recognize many of them but should that stop someone from posting or
collecting the 1980 Mens Olympic hockey team? Of course not, and that is my
point.

Collect what you want, who you want, share with each other and let us not worry
about those who have no interest, nor knowledge of what we do. I have worked
incredibly hard to build my collection, and I enjoy it a great deal. Whether a
purchase, an in person or a through the mail I cherish them all. From the guy
who played one game for the 1946 Brooklyn Dodgers, to Nolan Ryan. Why should
anyone worry about who we collect?

It is time to turn of the negativity and the constant barage of posts that
berate others, and then the incredible amount of responses to each. We will
never stop the outsiders from coming in and ranting abou how ignorant we are,
nor should we even care.

I guess my whole point is this is supposed to be fun. Let's keep it that way.
Let's lighten up on each other and ignore those from the outside who blast our
hobby. Let's continue to help each other have fun. And that is the key.

HAVE FUN. IT IS ONLY A HOBBY!! ENJOY!!

Now I am going to go back to having fun and I hope you do as well. A couple of
posts coming up with some fun in persons and a few through the mail as well.

til next time....
hope all your mailboxes are full
see ya

eh... ignore them... it's all just elitest bull**** anyway. If they have
their panties up in a knot because you post your through the mail
successes.. so be it. Personally, most "big name stars" don't interest me
anyway. I enjoy your posts, so the other people can **** off.. they can
filter your messages out if they don't like it.

Keep up the great posts I also collect autographs from some of the lesser
known Celebrities from Sports and Film

Many of the baseball autographs I have are of Players I never saw play but my
memories of many of them are from the baseball cards I collected when I was a
child

Many of the film and TV autographs I collect are from what is reffered to as
character actors Those actors that you have seen in countless films and TV
shows that you never know the name of and who may appear in just a scene or two

In closing everyone has thier own passion and that should be respected
