Note: This must be done in your head only. Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it. Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10. What is the total? Now I got 4100, and I am not sure how anyone gets anything else, never mind 5000. Could someone explain.....;-) -- Tony Clayton or Coins of the UK : http://www.tclayton.demon.co.uk/coins.html Values of Coins of the UK : http://www.tclayton.demon.co.uk/values/coins.html Metals used in Coins : http://www.tclayton.demon.co.uk/metal.html Sent using RISC OS on an Acorn Strong Arm RiscPC .... 66MHz ain't fast enough! |

Too funny! I thought the same thing. Man, I'm glad I don't balance
the daily financial reports here, we'd be broke!!! --Andrew On 06 Jul 2003 02:45:02 GMT, rosit (Jim) wrote: (Andrew Auletta) sez.... Seems to come to 5,000. What's it supposed to add up to? Go back and try again. Follow the instructions and it sub-totals 4090 + 10 for a final total of 4100, but the human psyche keeps wanting to think 4900 + 100. Keep trying.
