New stamp issuing territories
Victor,
the Hugo van Reyen Agency on the Channel Islands were responsible for their stamp issueing facilities long ago! Nothing changes, just the number of stamps per year may increase! They could not really be considered postage stamps at all for some 15-20 years already. So why bother when Dunes fall apart into smaller Dunes ..... groetjes, Rein Op Tue, 12 Oct 2010 14:53:07 +0200 schreef Victor Manta : After the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles, Curacao and St. Maarten became independent countries within the kingdom of Netherlands. Other three island, Bonaire, Saba & St. Eustatius, are considered special municipalities of the Netherlands, and they will issue stamps (of course!) under the name Caribisch Nederland. Caribbean Netherlands will switch its currency to US$, and St. Maarten will have its own currency, which is a must for a territory of 34 Km2 and under 40,000 inhabitants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Martin All of them were scheduled for issuing stamps on October, 10th. New stamp issuing territories
Victor,
most of the face values had nothing to do with postage! But that may mean no argument to you I am in favour of collecting anything that is worth collecting and these Caribbean seals may be a little bit more postal than the Tonga tincan-mail or the Pitcairn's Captain Blighs... But if you got just enough money to spend some on philately once and a while - just forget them, they are not worth it! groetjes, Rein Op Wed, 13 Oct 2010 01:40:45 +0200 schreef Victor Manta : Op Tue, 12 Oct 2010 14:53:07 +0200 schreef Victor Manta : After the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles, Curacao and St. Maarten became independent countries within the kingdom of Netherlands. I just wonder why those stamps you mention, issued during the last 15-20 years, cannot be considered postage stamps. Aren't they more or less like the Austrian, Indian, Romanian and so many others stamps, issued by an agency named IGPC (I wonder that The Netherlands isn't on the list)? http://www.igpc.net/client.html Are these also Dunes but ones that grow bigger and bigger, and therefore we should bother? -- Gemaakt met Opera's revolutionaire e-mailprogramma: http://www.opera.com/mail/ |
