Sorry, Rodney: it appears Gibbons doesn't list any of the No top to
crown varieties, with or wihout the OS puncture Tony rodney wrote: For interest to the flyspeckers. ASC F27o 1.1/2d KGV 1st May 1924 wmk 2, small OS puncture. Thanks a lot Tony, I was wondering just how deep SG went. Cheers. "Asia-translation" wrote in message ... This variety indeed doesn't appear in Commonwealth Part 1 AFAICS but there are single-country Commonwealth cats that may go deeper. They are rather rare though, and I've never had one to examine other than GB Concise, which certainly adds varieties to those in Commonwealth. Chris |

Thanks Chris,
I think that it is appropriate they meet halfway with the ACS It would be unreasonable to expect Gibbons to go any deeper. I have adopted the regime to classify with Gibbons, with sub classification with ACS So this stamp would be SG77[F27o] ACS details http://cjoint.com/data/gid0rSZvgJ.htm I don't know which SG Tony used. I was indeed using Gibbons Part 1. I don't know how deeply the
Gibbons Australia volume goes, but the India volume, as if affects the Indian States at least, seems to be no more than a reprint of the Part 1 listings. I did check my ancient (1947) copy of Rosenblum. He acknowledges the existence of the missing top to crown on this stamp, and the perf OS, but doesn't offer values. I think you'd need to go to the ACSC for something more definitive. I gather the new Postage Dues volume of the ACSC is due for release 'soon', and I might lash out and buy that. But for the rest ... flyspecking Geo V Heads doesn't do anything for me, I'm afraid. If you are determined to flyspeck, I would have thought TravAncore was the mother lode. Tony of the Antipathies |
