Default 1958 wheat

I have a 58 wheatie that would go an xf40 but the back has such a light strike
I don't know what to make of it. The wheat stalks are very lightly struck and
the middle is virtually unreadable without a strong magnifing glass. Any ideas
of what to do with it or make of it. Stuart

the back has such a
light strike I don't know what to make of it.

There are several possibilities.

It could have been struck with a thinned out coin or planchet between your coin
and the reverse die.

It could have had grease and dirt on the reverse die.

It could have been altered with a buffing wheel.

It has to be something that affected the reverse, as otherwise the obverse
would be as weak, ruling out a weak strike.

Save it.

Make a granary that suits your fancy and keep all the wheat cents you
find in it.
