Well, this dimwit - Willow - did check and posted my findings that there was
actually value in "them thar hills". I suggest you read before you engage
the keyboard.

Now, some people are just nasty and if you are one of those, my sympathies
to your family and friends, if any.

Willow.

Easton & Franklin

Their signed editions perform better than the stock market. I bought an
Easton signed by Gorbachev years ago for $79 and resold it for $6000.
Shelby Foote for $1000, Reagan for $4000, Mandela for $2000. What do you
think the Gorbachev and Mandela books will fetch after they pass away?
I bought all the editions signed by astronauts for $79 and have resold
several of them for $500 apiece only a year later. The majority of Easton
and Franklin signed editions are "blue chips". I see a lot of dimwitted
posts here by people like "willow" and some others. Keep them coming and
I'll go get the popcorn.

Franklin Library's Signed First Editions...although long gone...are
quite valuable when sold on Ebay etc. They did first editions of many
classics..such as Bonfire of the Vanities. Also, most coin and medal
collectors consider the coins minted by the Franklin Mint to rank at
the top when it comes to quality. And many of those are now selling a
decent premiums to collectors. But then collecting shouldnt be about
investment anyway.

As I collect DeMille, I did look for his one Franklin book. I found the
Franklin edition for all of $30 - it issued at $65 I think.

Copy the listing photo, save it as a background, and then use Control Panel
to tile it. A good background for a Windows book-lover!!!

Well some books are worth more than others..just like anything.
Whether it be coins from the US Mint...or antique toy trains...that can
be worth thousands or much less. I have the signed Franklin edition of
Bonfires of the Vanities. I saw it sell for $900 on Ebay. I would not
sell it for any amount as it was given to me by a friend who worked at
FM.

Looking at ebay, there are currently a handful for sale,
and of ended listings there are four in the last week:
$16 to $41. The high-end one is "mint" according to the
seller; the $16 one is damaged.

I just went to eBay and ran a search for EASTON PRESS SIGNED in
completed auctions in books and found 185 from January 7-today. Of
those, the highest single volume was one signed by Reagan for
$1,045...and 50 more sold from $100-694. While Easton Press books are
"pretty" and look nice sitting on a shelf, they are well constructed
and will hold up...probably longer than most trade editions put out
today.

When you have an unrestrained auction site such as eBay, which
attracts neophytes (myself being one) to the book collectors/sellers
market, as well as seasoned pros, anything goes.

If someone will pay between 16 and 1000 dollars for essentially a very
nice copy of the readers digest book club...let them.

I am dubious whether Allen and Patricia Ahearn will price them as high
in their next book of values, though.
