This year there was not one word about the disgraced Edmonton Stamp Show in
any media in Edmonton!

Not one word on radio, or TV.
Not one word or mug shot of tax fraudster Keith Spencer in any newspaper.

Were there any attendees at all at this year's show in Edmonton?
Does anyone care any more?

In September 2005, the Southeast Federation of Stamp Clubs held its
annual stamp show in Atlanta. This is an American Philatelic
Society-sanctioned national show (and I believe the largest stamp show
in the southeastern United States). Unfortunately, there was not one
word about the show in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution--the only
regional Atlanta newspaper. To my knowledge, there was not one word on
radio, TV, or the non-philatelic press.

Some local weekly newspapers carried announcements--but no articles or
photographs. The Edmonton news media is probably like that in
Atlanta--they want paid ads. The gun shows pay for advertising, as do
the coin shows. I guess the Edmonton news media figure why give away
something they can charge for. I suspect this is increasingly true of
the news media in other places.

Ed, up until this year, and all the very bad publicity about
THIEVGING, the Edmonton Stamp Show used to get lots of free publicity.

Radio and TV stations gave many free plus and even interviews. The TV
stations even did feature reports from the show in previous years.
Newspapers used to be full of the grinning smarmy look of Keith
Spencer.

Now, however, since the media became aware of the unsavory background
of Spencer and his multi-million dollar money laundering, together
with all the publicised THEFTS from dealers at the shows, I guess the
media have had enough, and like reputable stamp dealers, all are
BOYCOTTING the Edmonton show.

When they finally go bankrupt after going through the $60,000 or so
accumulated profits, will they then be forced to auction off all their
assets, including thousands of stamp circuit books and the like?

Default WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!! Repost

Time to repost this WARNING, again, in case there MAY be another Edmonton
Stamp Show following last year's disaster.

On Wed, 01 Feb 2006 12:32:54 -0700, Pat Humphrey wrote:

If some of you are fools, who do not want to believe the truth as detailed by
victims, APS, BNAPS and the police, then you deserve to have your stock stolen
by those responsible from the Edmonton Stamp Show!!

The facts have been well documented by the victims of such thefts.

The reposting is to warn others who may not be aware of the risks involved in
attending the Edmonton Stamp Show.

With APS and BNAPS both documenting significant THEFTS from those attending

Those who take it will benefit by not having their material stolen.

If those who go, get their material stolen, then that is their choice.

From all the reports, it most definitely looks like an inside job, as they
say.

With other criminal ionvestigations ongoing against several executives there,
by various Canadian and other law agencies, who knows what will be the next
bad news report from there?

But doesn't that seem like a bigger crime to make accusations on an appearance.
Isn't that what is wrong with the world? Did you learn nothing from Sherlock's
most celebrated cases. The truth can be so logical as to defy fantasy. What if
some extraterrestrials or supernaturals were exacting revenge on evil stamp
collectors? Is that beyond the realm of possibility? Aren't stamp collectors and
dealers among the ranks of the darkside?
The apple doesn't fall too far from the worm.

Just ask all the many victims of what seems to be inside thefts at the shows!!

Just ask the people at APS how many have had their material stolen there!
And Bob Kane, and Donald Kaye [Police Ref.#03-39095] have had enough of
Edmonton, to make public their concerns in the media!

Default WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!! Repost

I know nothing about this show, I have never been , I have never seen any
bad press.

But if I were anything to do with it, I would be suing your backside off
now.

I strongly suggest you post some links in substantiation of your claim, or
take what ever action your legal advisors suggest.

A warning perhaps yes, but you are sailing a dangerous path with these
posts in my view

At the risk of encouraging this unfortunate two-year thread to continue,
please provide specific evidence about the existence of documentation
proving that "significant THEFTS from those attending the Edmonton Stamp
Show."

You have repeatedly stated publicly--and to the world via this
newsgroup--that there has been wholesale theft at the show in the past
and that it will happen again. Is this an allegation that someone will
steal stamps from collectors attending the show? Or, does this mean that
dealers will steal from collectors attending the show? Or, does it mean
that show organizers will steal from collectors attending the show? Or,
is this a claim that show organizers will steal from dealers at the
show? Or, is this a claim that dealers will steal from each other at the
show? Or, are you warning that collectors will be stealing from dealers
at the show? Or, are you alleging that that show security is so lax that
someone will attempt to steal from dealers' stock after the show closes
each afternoon? Or, is theft taking place in the hotel rooms of dealers
and collectors attending the show?

According to all the reports in APS, BNAPS, newspapers in Edmonton, and the
Edmonton Police - check their file #03-39095 report of theft of material of
attending Dealer Donald Kaye, for example, it seems that someone connected
with the show MUST be directly involved with all the thefts from dealers
participating at the so-called show!!

Security at the show is apparently non-existent, based on the recurring thefts
year after year.

Provide this information or please step down from your podium.
