I collect mostly shells and marine life stamps which started out by my
collecting shells. From there I started collecting nature stamps and
because of that started collecting orchids and epiphyllum cacti. I have
always been interested in archaeology and other cultures so I began
collecting stamps with those subjects if the images were good. I collect
some with what I consider great artwork on them because I am an artist and
was a printer for several years. Space stamps, medicine, science and
unusual sets are collected also. And of course any stamp or philatelic item
that has weird stuff as subject matter or orrigin, like ufos and aliens.

I also collect carnival and uranium glass, telephone insulators, post cards,
coins and paper money (also for the artwork), head vases, and rhinestone
jewelry from the 50's and earlier, as well as the plants and shells
mentioned earlier. And I've just started collecting autographs which will
tie together the postcards and stamps collecting.

I lurk here, checking the posts nearly every day but haven't posted much
because of events beyond my control.

I have noticed (but I can be wrong) that the number of postings in RCSD
decreased in the last time. Isn't it a bit strange, especially when
considering that on news:fr.rec.philatelie (the stamps NG in French) there
are more and more postings, and anyway more than here?

For this reason I wonder how many actively participate or are at least

read
the postings in this NG.

May I invite you to answer this posting, by eventually adding a short
comment, for example about what are you collecting. Your posting will let
know to our visitors how large actually is the experience of this

philatelic
group.

Please infer my modest domain of knowledge from my signature.

Bill, I've just returned your membership application (and added the
PCSG-logo to my sites -- see the about author page) :-)

Other than art and philatlic arts (engravings) I should add, that I've
started new collections on China pre-1950, and French Colonies, which will
both keep me busy for a while ... ;-)

GB, Canada, Selected Europe, South America, US, AU, NZ, India. Think that is
about it.

I haven't been up on this forum for a bit though, miss it, just too busy.

Almost always just a reader--but I really enjoy the banter and find that I
learn far more than I could hope to contribute. My collecting limps along,
but I collect

used blocks--mostly USA, but GB, Canada and any others that I can find make
their way into my albums
SOTN--working on a calendar
postal history--primarily different rates, USA and GB, stampless
postal history--my home town in Ohio
fancy cancels

Victor et al,

World Wide (everything and anything) prior to 1940.

US to mid 1980s
Canada to mid 1980s
Great Britain to mid 1980s

Exhibit collection is OOPS! (Postal oddities and mistakes - not necessarily
errors but just things that went wrong)

George Pettigrew

PS: Read this group every day and reply or post very infrequently.

Although I find little on my own personal interests (military mail), I am also
a writer for Mekeel's & Stamps Magazine in the U.S. and find many of the
discussions here offer fodder for future articles. It keeps me informed of the
interests of many collectors.

Hi
I'm a long time collector of worldwide revenues and cinderellas. I have
exhibited in national, regional and local stamp shows in the US. At the
national level I've gotten everything from a thanks (maybe) to gold.
Among other projects, I am now editor of the Catalog of United States
Revenues Perfins. It will include federal, state and local revenues, and
covers perforated initials, designs and numbers; perforated dated
cancellations; cut out initials, designs and numbers; and such items. Anyone
interested, please contact me directly.
Cinderellas are for fun, Art
