the rule for years has always been 3 posts per day per group to be fair
to all and the header was not the place to show your lists-- i know
some people always think there above the rules but this is just plain
getting stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--

there used to be hundreds of regulars on these groups--but as the qty
of posters who disregarded the rules grew the ones who followed the
rules left--seems to me the more regulars the group has the more
options for collectors therefore the more people who search the
groups--the ones who
abuse the rules are the first to cry when they think someone is
stepping on there toes yet seem to have no respect for others--
don't see many posts asking to trade anymore--just BIG MONEY using the
free advertising and showing the BIG MONEY type of consideration for
the non dealer little guys..

if the everyday collectors keep getting shoved right off the group by
the constant 8-10 post per day dealers or the list in the header that
takes up enough room on the group for 5 or 6 correct type of posts they
just go away--i have had contact with several who used to post here-
they followed the rules and got shoved out--good job guys!!!!

couldn't agree more.
I used to have unbelievable activity selling and purchasing on these
boards (I'm not a dealer,just a collector who has been buying,selling
online for 13 years...I havent yet gravitated over to
Freebay)...now,nothing...and hardly anybody left. I met some nice
dealers like SMCCI and others thorugh this NG right here, some through
AOL,but it seems everyone is on Freebay now, buying $250 vintage cards
for $20. It's a statement of our hobby,I guess. Bottomed out unless you
have top-notch graded to sell at auction.
Graded is obviously the way to go. I have avoided that area,as well.
Guess it's time to joing the Freebay Graded Card club like everyone else!
Happy New year to all nonetheless!

I've just opened
http://groups.google.com/group/colle...oderated?hl=en
which is a moderated version of this group. Too many people posting
SPAM, ignoring Usenet ettiquete and subject lines are just WAY too
long. It's easy to join, just follow the simple rules and you'll have
a blast and hopefully actually be able to DISCUSS sportscards as well
as find trades easily. Take a stop by. It's empty at the moment, but
is that really much worse than making a post where you have to weed
through the SPAM to find a legitimate topic? So stop by and add some
content! )
