Ten bob note fraud.
A lady in her 60's was approached by a man in a car park in Arbroath and
asked if she could give a £20 note in exchange for two £10 notes, she did so but she received two ten bob notes that are similar in colour to £10 notes. A "spokesman" at Edinburgh Coin Shop said the ten bob notes were worth £1 each. I wonder if that information is accurate, thy woman may have been given scarce ones, I wish more details of the ten bob notes had been given. Billy |

Is there any other common slang we should know? (We do not have broadcast TV in our home, but we see it when we travel and on one of these "street crime" shows, the guy said, "A dollar twenty nine" and it took me a few seconds to realize that he had to mean a hundred and twenty-nine dollars, not $1.29.) |
