If those are my only choices, I'll go for the $20. I'm sure I'm not the
only one here would would not shed a tear at the departure of Mr
Jackson.

As for the dime, one of the proposals was to have two separate (but
equal?) dimes -- half would be with Roosevelt, half Reagan. It's an
interesting, out-of-the-box kind of proposal. My position remains "no
more dead presidents on coins", but I'm not entirely opposed to two
concurrently circulating dimes.

They proposed the $10 FRN not the $20. I voted for "other".

Articles are on the web.

All the presidents will have 4 months on the Golden Dollar as soon as H.R.3916 passes. It
is on a fast-track and has been:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d108:h.r.03916: add the last colon back in at the
end. For some reason OE will not leave the colon in the link.

I guess that this quote is wrong then?

"Meanwhile, an effort is underway in the House of Representatives,
led by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), to put Reagan's face on the
$20."

No more dead presidents on any of our money would be refreshing.

I saw the McConnell effort, but not the Rohrabacher effort. There will be many other
comments/efforts to rename/replace.

if they don't do the Presidential series, then I say put Ronnie on the GD ASAP.

Did anyone take the poll ? I found the results surprising - unless people
from this group are the only ones voting !

On what currency should Ronald Reagan's image be placed:

Dime - 7%
$10 Bill - 24%
$20 Bill - 10%
Other - 5%
None - 54%

Well the numbers have been getting higher since this morning. I
still do not believe that there are 54% that does not want to see
his face on the money though, unless it is people that is going by
what Nancy had to say about it. Not even on this newsgroup! But I
guess that they (the 54%) have been listening to JAM & a few others
from this newsgroup... As in "No more dead presidents on any of our
money would be refreshing.".

Neat idea, however I'm about to make a post that would make better (at
least to me) use of Regan's image.

My fear about putting Regan's image on the dollar would be like what
happened to the half dollar when a certain president's image who was shot
to death was put on that coin. Death to the half dollar as no one wanted
to spend it as the image was too valuable to depart or acually use.

Many things are different today, still it makes me think what could happen,

Barney
