Default Question about the Bicentenial $2 Bill

I have been wondering this for years, and maybe someone can give me an
answer.

Why did the quarter, half dollar, Ike dollar revert back to their
original reverse design after the Bicentenial, but the $2 bill did not
revert back to the Monticello reverse design? I wish it would have
because I liked that design better than the Declaration of
Independence reverse (I know some of you will say you like the
Declaration design better) I like the idea of going back to the
Monticello design because, if the $1 bill is eliminated, then every
denomination of U.S. currency would have a building on the reverse. I
usually suggest the return of the Monticello to the $2 bill when I
write letters to Congress about redesigning the $2. And one thing I
did suggest in an email to one of my Congressmen a while back, was a
big red numeral 2 on the reverse (similar to the new colorized $5
bill's big purple 5 on its reverse. This way, people can tell a new $2
bill from a $5 or $1 bill in poor lighting seeing as, it would have a
huge red 2, which should be easily distingushable from the huge purple
5 on the $5 bill, and the new $2 bill would not have the small
portrait on the front or a bunch of green space on the reverse, like
the current $1 bill.

Default Question about the Bicentenial $2 Bill

I guess the legislation covering the issuance of the bicentennial
coins had no connection with the $2 design change. And I guess most
people were happy with the change, so why not keep it?
