Default Remember when?

When I was a kid back in the 1960's, there were coins in circulation
that were dated all the way back to 1909. In fact, if you had the money,
you could go to the bank and get silver dollars dated all the way back
to 1878.

What exactly happened to our money? I've heard all of the excuses, but
none of them seem to work for me. For instance, when they first took our
silver, they told us that there was a "coin shortage". Then they told us
that the new clad coins wouldn't mix with the old silver ones, because
the vending machines wouldn't take them both.

I smell bull****. Anybody else noticed it too?

I'm kind of tired of hearing about what today's money is worth compared
to real legal money. We've been had.

Go down to your local bullion dealer and they'll give you almost your
money's value in silver. Or go down to your local shop and they'll give you
the value in good. Or to your bank and they'll credit you exactly what you
paid for the coin (unless you got ripped off) to your account. If there
were still silver coins today, they would immediatly be hoarded or melted
down, or certainly would once their bullion value exceeded their bullion
value exceeded their face value. Simple.
