RIP - Charles Lane
Long-time character actor, Charles Lane, has passed away at age 102. I am
so very privileged to have to gotten this gentleman's autograph last year. Even at the ripe old age of 101, he took the time to hand-write a note thanking me for writing. A LOT of current flash in the pans can learn a thing or two about mutual respect between celebs and the fans regarding autographs. As for his career, he is probably one of the most recognizable actors by appearance, with his thin frame and stern facial expressions, than by name. He usually played the tough, no nonsense men in everything from 'It's A Wonderful Life' to guest role character appearances on 'I Love Lucy', 'Petticoat Junction' and 'Beverly Hillbillies'. The role that I will always remember he from is on one of the 'Bewitched' Christmas episodes where he plays a "Scrooge"-type character that Samantha has to win over with the holiday spirit. I always thought that he would have played a PERFECT "Montgomery Burns" in a live-action 'Simpsons' movie. :-) -- Mike Gummby3 -= Star Collector =- www.star-collector.net Celebrity addresses the way they should be - free. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
