Default Stanley Gibbons Ideal Stamp Album

Hello! It's come to my attention that SG has reprinted the 2 foriegn
volumes of the New Ideal Albums into 3 volumes with printing on one
side. Can anyone verifiy this? Did they allow for expansion? Any
comments? Thanks, Tim

Expansion? Why?

It's a 'dead end' album ending in 1936.

At that high price of £385, far better to buy a 'blank' set up [Lighthouse
comes to mind!] and 'expand' all you want!

Of course, you -=could=- go for the Leather Bound version at £575 !!! G

Ending in 1936 is also an odd choice, most 'Classic Albums' run the full
first century - 1840-1940 !!!

1936 was the year George V died. So from a British POV it's a logical
choice.

But it's a -=worldwide=- album ... why is their -=catalogue=- "Four Kings" ?

Could have made it 1937 and squeezed in Edward VIII *G- Hide quoted text -

I think they would rather forget Edward.

Besides which, the abdication of Edward VIII came late in 1936, so there is
no logic to 1937.

Another factor is that wartime issues are so complex that a break before
1939 is no bad idea.

Compared to the Machins and the Wildings, the 'wartime issues' are a
walk in the park!

I do not mean GB stamps, I mean European and Worldwide
