Question about 1848 large cent/ebay
I've noticed at any given hour there are at least one 1848 large cent
for sale on ebay. If you do a search for "1848 large cent" on ebay you come up with 50 or more for sale/at any given time! I do realize that there were over 6 million made, but is there really that many available for sale...? (It may take several years but I'm thinking of buying them all! lol) Bob |

So it is not surprising that there would be that many available on eBay at any given time. Good luck on cornering the market, Bob! James |

United States Large Cents, 1793-1814 Breen. Walter Breen's Encyclopedia of United States Cents 1793-1814 Noyes. United States Large Cents, 1816-1839 Wright. The Cent Book (covers same dates as above) Grellman. U.S. Cents 1840-1857 They are all quite thorough, but big and expensive, not to mention intimidating to the non-specialist. James |

Is there a good book out there about the United States large cent? I'm looking for one myself. Let me know if and when you get any good suggestions. Here's a very basic large cent library: Sheldon, Penny Whimsy (1793-1814) Noyes, USLCs 1793-1814 Noyes, ULCs 1816-1839 Wright, The Cent Book (1816-1839) Grellman, US Cents 1840-1857 For more information, log on to www.eacs.org, the website of the Early American Coppers Club.
