Default MS60?

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how unusual it is to find a coin in
a major service's slab graded MS60? Plenty of AU58's and MS61's, but seldom
an MS60. Seems to be a grade that falls through the cracks. So close to
Unc 58 or very low end Unc 61. But seldom an Unc 60.

Yah,

There's an old tale that says that it's easy to find an ugly
coin...just look for a ms-60...It can be battered and scratched
poorly toned and ugly. As long as it can be proven uncirculated,
it's earned it's grade.

But finding a coin with the technical merit of an AU-58? That's
a different story because THAT COIN earned every bit of it's
grade.

One guy went thru considerable fuss making a registry
set of Indian 2 1/2 dollars...all were dazzeling.
