Default User jolllyman on Yahoo auctions - counterfeits

I believe this is the same guy who called himself jollyc on ebay and was
NARU'ed for selling those Chinese counterfeits and pretending they might be
real. Looks like he's moved to Yahoo auctions and is doing the same thing. I
discovered a feature called 'Neighborhood Watch' where people can comment on
an auction on Yahoo to warn the buyers. I did post my concerns about one of
the auctions. I thought I'd post a link to his auctions in case anyone else
on here wants to look for themselves and add their concerns to the
'Neighborhood Watch' on there. The button for adding those comments is right
above the 'Auction Info'.

http://user.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/user/jolllyman?

In his descriptions he says the coin is a nice example.. looks real.. feels
lighter.. acquired as part of a collection.. lots of copies out there so
he's selling as such to be on the safe side. Never says that he bought them
as copies from China.

Thanks,

Ken

thanks for the info-that 'watch' feature is something e-bay should have-a
way for users to self-regulate the auctions on that venue, keep eachother
informed of suspicious auctions and sellers.
I haven't used yahoo auctions in over a year, but I recently began checking
them out once again, just for variety.

You're right. The thing that really bugs me about his auctions is his
pretending he does not know for sure if the coins are counterfeit or not.
And of course he does because of when and where he bought them. Instead he
implies that the buyer might be getting a real one. Then he says he's
selling as a repro just to be safe. sheesh...

Sure, maybe the buyer should learn a lesson from his/her greed but I hate
liars..

Simply amazing that people fall for this crap and bid them up so high, they
are FAKES people. You would think people would learn. BTW I like the
neighbourhood watch feature, I don't see fleaBay offering such a useful tool
though, since it would hurt their bottomed line.

Exactly what I was thinking. They would just deny knowledge of any seller
offering counterfeits, and even if they were aware, they would just say they
can't police every auction.
But,really-wouldn't it just serve them much better in the eyes of their
users if they did have such a feature?Maybe they're afraid of misuse-kind of
what some of our own sellers from this group have been through with the
feedback on e-bay.
