Question ring-sing and grading
OK, I bid and won on the coin below. Afterwards I noticed there is a
nick in the rim above the 'N' on the reverse. I asked for and received a refund as this was hard to see in the picture and wasn't explained in the description. The coin is beautiful otherwise and I hoped to have it graded but I figured the nick was enough to get it pushed back very low at best, or refused. Should I have kept it? I'm doubting my decision now... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Thanks for any input. John |

Every time you looked at that coin your eyes would be drawn to the defect and dwell on it. Even if you had to spend a bit more on a more perfect coin, you'd be glad you did. James |

It jumped right out at me as soon as I saw the reverse image. I would be happy to have the coin in an album at about the $50 level but not at the level it got bid to. I'm glad you got your money back though. Cliff |

Question ring-sing and grading
Looks like a HUGE nick above the 'N'. The seller definitely should have
mentioned it and I can see how you missed it when paired with that background. You did well requesting a refund. Maybe they'll think next time before listing. "John Ferraiuolo" wrote in message ... For not too much more money you can get one of those AU58 which would be a
much nicer coin typically. If it was in a tight 2x2 I'll bet you couldn't even see that mark |

Thanks everyone. I feel better now about letting it go. All valid points.

James Are the obverse signs of clashed dies that clearly evident on this die pair? Really nice, to me. Aram. |
