Default Conway Stewart Churchill any tips on stopping the pressure bardamaging the ink sac

Hi all

I have a Conway Stewart Churchill that has a bad habit of damaging the
ink sac, this I understand is down to the bad design of the pressure
bar and lever which bend the end of the bar so that it sticks into the
sac at the point it joins the nipple. This resulting in a two fold
problem of A: the sac gets damaged and B: the sac is not fully
compressed so it does not take on a full load of ink.

Obviously this pen is well out of warranty so does anyone know a
workable solution to fix the problem. I understand that Richard
Binder used to be able to do it, but he has stopped fixing pens.
Anyone know what he used to do to them.

I don't know the answer to what Richard did with this sort of thing.
Looking around the web, it appears the fix is to replace the J bar with
a shorter one. Probably a two piece bar to get more even pressure on
the sac. A silicone sac might also be more durable than rubber.
