Serendipity with Photo Books

As I've mentioned this is not an area I collect in, but I have from time to
time made a fortuitous find, most recently a first edition of Mary Ellen
Mark's first book Passport (1974).

Over the years I've found a second edition (1968) of Robert Frank's seminal
The Americans, with an introduction by Jack Kerouac, which some critics
consider the most important book to come out of the Beat movement. (Found
for $1, sold for $153.)

More recently, I found a terribly beaten up copy of Sam Haskins's early
photo book November Girl (1966):

It just goes to show that even terrible condition won't prevent the sale of
a desirable work. (Found for $2, sold for $175.)

In any case, for the photo book collectors among us, I wanted to point out
some news. Mary Ellen Mark has a new book, a retrospective, I believe. She
just did an interview on NPR's The Connection:
