From somewhere where a clerk was very careful to center it nicely ;-)
Meaning that I have never seen such.

Suggestion: shrink your .jpgs below 1.7 megs. Tolerable with my broadband,
but less so for slower connection and redundant.

Hi Terry,

thank You for Your response. I know, that the picture resolution is very
high, but for my own database I scan with 1200 dpi on 24 Bit colour
depth. And, You are right, it is a little bit too big for normal use :-).

But the problem still remains, I don?t know where this postmark comes
from, whether it is a fiscal cancellation or a postal or a whatever it
is. Has anyone a link to a well working postmark catalogue?

*scratching my head*

Hello gerhard

well, I do not know exactly, but it likes a bit a french numeral
obliterator. It shurely IS a postal cancel, IMO.
French would fit, I presume it has been cancelled at the
arrival-postoffice or excange-postoffice. Maybe, a yvert-catalogue could
help.

Hi
This is not my area of interest so I'll be asking a collector of
early German later this week. I think it is a cog wheel cancel and the
large 6 indicated where it was cancelled. Michel Deutchland- Spezial
might have the information, Art

Art:

The "large 6" is really a 9 and is part of the stamp design. (scan is
on its side)

Here is a reversed image of the scan showing the number 320 / A
inside a seven pointed star.

Thank You Peter, Art and Blair, also in my opinion it is a postmark of
the arriving post office, and I also read the postmark as a 320/A, but
cannot find it :-)).

The French postmarks of this period are similar, but do not fit:

So my problem is still the same :-)

Any more suggestions? :-)

kindest regards

Well, no, I am just able to confirm it is not french.

An interesting one, nevertheless ;-)
