Default Cataloged my collection, finally

Hi all -
I just finished cataloging my entire collection, and getting them finally
listed in one data base. I found out that I have 685 autographed items, not
counting the 130 autographed books.

I also checked them through Sanders 6th, and am amazed at what they are
worth. And, before anyone says it, I know that Sanders does not equal
value, and that they are only worth what someone is willing to pay, but it's
still a good frame of reference for things like rarity, desireability, etc.
(Also for insurance).

Since I collect a lot of vintage hollywood, it's no surprise that most of my
"big ticket" items are signatures of dead people. Same with WWII military
folks and early astronauts.

According to Sanders, my two top priced items are a 3x5 picture card signed
by Singer Jimmy Rogers, and a sepia toned 5x7 signed by Shirley Temple as a
teenager. A both signed Astaire and Rogers 8x10, and an 8x10 of Natalie
Wood are a close second.

The best value for my buck in the collection is an 8x10 signed by Steve
McQueen, I found in a thrift store and paid $12 for it, frame and all.

Another interesting thing I noticed was the value in my book collection.
You would think that the most valuable would be from a President, or someone
who is dead, but according to Sanders, my signed novel by Patricia Hearst is
more valuable than Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Duncan Hines and James A.
Michener.

Anyway, I had a good time cataloging my 'graphs, and thought I'd share some
of my thoughts with you all. Thanks for reading this.

Love, Wanda
