Default Has anybody had any luck with eBay Want It Now?

I created three Want It Now entries for coins on eBay, and none of them
were useful. Has anyone had any success?

I've seen Want It Now posts with lots of responses, but they all seemed
to be for items that the poster should have found with a search. My
searches were all for specific items that I had searched for.

My first was for "Israel 5 Agorot coin, Aluminum, Star of David, KM 25c"
(with more detail in the body). No responses, but about the time the
Want It Now post expired a small lot containing a couple appeared on
eBay and the type also showed up on the list of a non-eBay dealer.

My second post was for "Ireland 5 Pence 1995 18.4mm, KM 28.2". It
expired recently with no responses.

My third post is for "Switzerland 2 Franc 1982 KM 21a.2". I expect the
post to expire in three days. The post got one response, it it was
basically spam -- the reply pointed to an unrelated lot. One of these
coins appeared in a lot and I contacted the seller to say I was
interested in that coin but not the lot. No response from the seller,
and the lot was reposted unchanged after it didn't sell.

I have many other coins I would like -- should I make more posts? Has
anyone had better luck than I have? Do any of you sellers actually look
through the Want It Now posts?

I don't look through Want It Now posts because I basically don't sell coins.
I need to do that and see if there are any likely trades.

I have done maybe 10-12 Want It Now posts mostly for specific modern
Austrian coins
and had no success what so ever. I did a Want It Now post
for Attwood's British Museum acquisitions of medals book with no response.

Think I still have one listed for "Wanted Austrian 1974, 1984, 1989 Two
Groschen Coins"
No longer need the 1974 though.
Most pointed me to eBay links that, while related, were not the items I
posted for.
I haven't given up on Want It Now posts but am not very hopeful.

I never got anything useful through Want it Now. Seems to be a waste of
time and energy. Wasn't looking for coins, but the type of responses I
got were analogous to putting up an ad for nickel three cent pieces and
getting people trying to sell you 1980's Jeffersons.

I've been selling on ebaY since the beginning and I've never heard of Want
It Now.

You might try not being so specific in your descriptions. I don't know
though. It doesn't seem to be working for you. I'll have to check it out
on ebaY. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I see, it is new. I looked at it. A seller would have to browse page after
page of listings or do a search for exactly what they were selling. Doesn't
look too useful to me.

I have had one posted for about a month with no responses. I was VERY
specific as to what I want because thats what I want, nothing else!

If I wanted something less specific I wouldn't have trouble finding it
on eBay -- there are thousands of coins available. The coins I "want
now" are the last holes in areas of my collection, so widening the
search will only turn up coins I already have.
