Default Library Sale Find

My local library has a shelf of donated books in the foyer which sell for 50
cents (hardcovers).
Yesterday I picked up a first edition of Donnie Brasco with DJ in good+
condition.

You never know what you're going to find in one of these sales!

Yes. I collect cookbooks, but found a book on another topic that
was worth $2000 (USD).

Hi Jean:
I am the new "kid" on the block. A quick question! If you were to sell that cookbook, where would you sell it?
best regards,
douglasj69

Unless it is a rare edition, cookbooks generally have little value.

Hi. I am barely here. It was actually a book about birds--I do
tend to look around at other things, although cookbooks are my
major motivator. The story on this book is that a friend listed
it for 2000, which it sold for. But after her cut, insurance,
shipping to Australia (I am in Massachusetts), I only got ca
$1200. Ack! Worse than that, I had read an article about a
really valuable book on birds and could not find it. This may
have been the book, in which case it was worth a lot more....

I do intend to become a seller at some point, have gotten a few
domains, but need to do various things before that happens. And,
I should add, I am NOT selling my cookbooks unless they are
duplicates etc. I love them and intend to bequeath them to
colleges, etc.!

As you now see, it was a book about birds. Tell that thing about
little value to the sellers! :-)
