St. Patrick Coinage

An article in this month's issue of "Ireland's Genealogical Gazette" -
the monthly newsletter of the Genealogical Society of Ireland, seeks to
establish the true identity of the designer of St. Patrick Coinage.
Many examples of this coinage were taken to Great Britain's American
colonies during the mid 17th to the early 18th centuries.

The author, David Paling, seeks further information on the subject.

For the March issue of the ANA NUMISMATIST magazine, my "Internet
Connections" column focused on Celtic coinage -- Irish, Welsh, etc. --
and the St. Patrick's tokens were mentioned, of course. They remain an
interesting problem in colonial numismatics.

stimulate debate and encourage further investigation in to the correct
origin of these coins.
