1970 Proof Set there is a difference in price between small date and large
date . How do you tell them apart? |

Large date/ Small date is really a bad name for the varieties. Look at the 7 in the date. If the top of the number is even with the other numbers, it is a "small date" and if the top of the 7 is lower than the tops of the other numbers it is a "large date". Also, look at the word "Liberty". If boldly struck, it probably is a large date, and if its weak you may have the more valuable small date. You will also want to check for a number of different doubled dies on this coin. |
