Default Akai M-8, the word is getting around !

obviously the Ebay buyers are finding out just how good one of these
SEP (single ended pentode) Akai M-8 reels sound- they work great as a
stereo receiver- and it's all I play my 8-tracks through anymore for
the last few years- solid state pales in comparison- the detail of the
M-8 in unbelieveable- you hear 3 guitars overdubbed on the tapes,
whereas before you thought it was only one.

I highly recommend one of these to any serious tracker looking to step
up to the next level. If you want a real trip, connect a Telex changer

But Noodles! What happened to it being a "SET?" You meatsa
ballsa...you wouldn't know what that meant if you had a book! What a
bull**** artist.

That's because you're an unmusical idiot who couldn't tell a clarinet
from a bassoon.

What a meatsa ballsa set up! Akai M-8...worth $25, tops. The only
reason this thing's pulling such high bids is that is has 10 hours on
it, total. LOTS of Air Force guys based in Guam during the Tet
Offensive days were carting this stuff home, to the delight of the Jap
manufactureres. I must've seen at least 10 of theses things come back
to the states on C-141 "garbage hauler" flights.

The C-141 is now retired after a long, excellent career after being
commissioned by Pres. Kennedy in 1962. Next to go: the F-117A
"Nighthawk," which will go down the tubes in two years. Carbon fiber
composite planes don't last too long! Also going away in '08 arel the
superannuated U-2 "Dragon Lady"/TR-1 spy planes. I see the 117s and
U-2s fly over my house all the time, and I'll miss them. Now, there
are rumors that the B-52 fleet is in jeopardy, due to rapidly
increasing corrosion and fatigue problems, and the USAF is now
teetering on re-engining the rest of the KC-135 fleet into KC-135Rs.
Already, many unmodified KC-135s with the original P&W J57s are being
sent to the boneyard at Davis-Monthan.

Looks like the symbols of America's former might are going down fast.

On the civil side, the former fleet of low hour C-54s (DC-4s)
converted to fire bombers years ago have been grounded and are
derelict somewhere in Wyoming. After that C-130A lost its wings up in
Idaho, a scared Bush Bird Administration grounded ALL old aircraft,
leaving the Dept. of the Interior and the California Divison of
Forestry without a primary weapon. There are not enough water
choppers or Canadian "Super Scooper" water bombers from De Havilland
to take up the slack.

Another fine mess the Republicans have created! They're out in
November. Even fatass blowhard Tony Blankley concedes that the GOP
has lost the House, and now the Senate is entirely within the
Democrats' reach. Seeing Joe Lieberman get tossed to the curb did
more to rally the party base than anything in recent memory.

FEATURES

The Zen Taboo features a straight forward no-nonsense design like all
of our products.

SINGLE ENDED DESIGN - One output tube per channel running in class A.
The benefit of this is in the detail. Multiple tube designs are never
quite as transparent as a single tube.

NO CIRCUIT BOARDS - Wired point-to-point with parts leads and no
hookup wire. The benefit of this is better sound combined with
reliability that is so great we offer a lifetime warranty.

SMALL OUTPUT TUBES - Uses your choice of EL84/6BQ5 or SV83/6P15P
output tubes. The benefit is these tubes have better speed and
neutrality then the pricey alternatives.

VOLUME/GAIN CONTROL - Front mounted gain control makes it possible to
use this amp without a preamp OR allows the input sensitivity to be
adjusted to achieve optimal sound with any preamp.

GOLD/TEFLON INPUT JACKS - Rear mounted, high quality RCA jacks are
wired with Silver/Teflon wire to support even the most expensive
interconnect cables.

FLIPPED OUTPUT JACKS - The top mounted speaker binding posts are
flipped so high dollar speaker cables lay out correctly without one
being twisted. These accept banana jacks, spades, or bare wire up to 8
gauge.

USA MADE CUSTOM OUTPUT TRANSFORMERS - Our output transformers are
designed from the ground up with premium cores and non-symmetrical
windings especially for these amps. There are no off-the-shelf
high-dollar output transformers made that sound better. These
transformers are a large part of the reason Decware amps have gained
the reputation they have.

SELF BIASING - That's right, you never have to adjust the bias of the
tubes. The benefit is that it takes all the hassle out of owning a tube
amp, and allows you to run non-matched tubes not to mention ensures the
best possible sound quality throughout the life of the tubes.

TUBE RECTIFIED - Designed around the 5Y3GT rectifier and similar
types. The benefit is reliability. With solid state rectification
voltage spikes can damage the diodes ensuring an eventual trip back to
the shop for repair. Tubes are MUCH harder to damage and if one ever
did fail, you could change it yourself in seconds and be back in
business. It is also no secret that tube rectification generally
sounds best - especially in the midrange.

REMOVABLE POWER CORD - Uses standard fused IEC connector with hidden
spare fuse. The benefit is when you move your amp, all cords simply
unplug from it. Also allows you to use aftermarket boutique cords even
though a good power conditioner/isolation transformer would have a far
greater effect.

WORLD VOLTAGE COMPATIBILITY - Our power transformers are also our own
built to very high spec here in the USA and have less then 0.5% failure
rate in our amplifiers. This amp comes standard with a world voltage
compatible transformer that can be wired for any country on the planet.

SINGLE TUBE INPUT STAGE - We use a single 12AX7 dual-triode to drive
the output tubes to ensure the exact same signature on each channel.
The signature of this tube is the perfect compliment to the pentode
wired output tubes and 12AX7's are the most popular signal tube in the
world. Since tube rolling is a fun way to personalize the signature of
your amp, you will enjoy knowing there are more different brands and
types of 12AX7 then any other tube.

HIGH MASS CHASSIS - New anniversary series non-magnetic chassis have a
powder coat gloss finish in a solid walnut base. Bases are
interchangeable with other hardwoods.

SEALED CONSTRUCTION - No ventilation is used because it's not needed.
The benefit is that no dust, smoke, or other contaminants get inside to
contaminate parts and solder joints. The internal wiring and parts
look new even after 30 years of use.

ORIGINAL CIRCUIT DESIGN - This amp is not just another knock off of
some vintage amp from the 60's. The development of this circuit was
done from scratch and with great care. Designed to take the magic of
our Triode amps to the next level.

OPTIONAL MATCHING PREAMP - We have a matching preamp that is very
synergistic and transparent with this amplifier. It is our model CSP2
and comes in the same chassis as the Taboo.

ULTRA LOW NOISE - Less then 1 millivolt of noise and hum (usually
0.4mv). The benefit is ultra black backgrounds and inaudible hum on
even the most efficient loudspeakers.

HIGHER POWER - Unlike it's triode counterpart, the SE84ZS, the TABOO
has 6 watts per channel (three times the power) making it compatible
with a wider range of loudspeakers.

DUAL SIGNATURES - Like having two amplifiers at the flip of a switch.
Go between "Standard" mode and "Lucid" mode.

Idiot...I can (and have) built my own tube gear years ago, while you
were huffing pot after school. Why bother now? Tube gear are
universally energy wasters and very high in distortion.

You know, just the other day I was in Wal-Mart and I heard these two
ladies discussing the Akai M-8. Then when I was getting my tires
balanced and rotated I heard the serviceman telling someone over the
counter about the Akai M-8. Then Christina Agulera was on TRL talking
about the Akai M-8. Oh- then some old whore sharing the corner with
your mom was talking about the Akai M-8. "The world waits... and
wonders" indeed!

did you know that current Democratic Congressman Byrd also was ? You
need to shut off CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc.- and get out more and stop
being BRAINWASHED by the liberal media. Your so-called "education" at
UCLA put blinders on you- and made you narrow minded.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_...e_Ku_Klux_Klan

Participation in the Ku Klux Klan
In the early 1940s, when Byrd was approximately 24 years old, he joined
the Ku Klux Klan, which he had seen holding parades in Matoaka, West
Virginia, as a child, his father having also been a Klan member[4].
Byrd was unanimously elected as the Exalted Cyclops of his local
chapter. [5] Byrd, in his autobiography, attributed the beginnings of
his political career to this incident, though he lamented that they
involved the Klan. According to Byrd's recollection, Baskin told him,
"You have a talent for leadership, Bob... The country needs young men
like you in the leadership of the nation." Byrd recalls that "suddenly
lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my
abilities. I was only 23 or 24, and the thought of a political career
had never struck me. But strike me that night, it did." [6] The KKK was
seen as a stepping stone for aspiring southern politicians - one of
the reasons attributed to Byrd's membership. [1] [2]

He participated in the KKK for a period of time during World War II,
holding the titles "Kleagle", which indicated a Klan recruiter, and
"Exalted Cyclops." Byrd did not serve in the military during the war,
working instead as a welder in a Baltimore shipyard, assembling
warships.

When running for Congress in 1952, he announced, "After about a year, I
became disinterested, quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in
the organization. During the nine years that have followed, I have
never been interested in the Klan." During this campaign, "Byrd went on
the radio to acknowledge that he belonged to the Klan from 'mid-1942 to
early 1943,' according to newspaper accounts. He explained that he had
joined 'because it offered excitement and because it was strongly
opposed to communism.' " ibid.

Byrd has also referred to his Klan membership as a mistake of his
youth. In 1997, he told an interviewer he'd encourage young people to
become involved in politics, but: "Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan.
Don't get that albatross around your neck. Once you've made that
mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena."

In his latest autobiography, Byrd explained that he was a member
because he "was sorely afflicted with tunnel vision - a jejune and
immature outlook - seeing only what I wanted to see because I thought
the Klan could provide an outlet for my talents and ambitions." [3]
