? about Mint Production Numbers
Where can one find good mint production numbers? Their website only
posts the last few years of circulating coinage. Where can one find how many comemmoratives, mint sets, proofs, etc were sold for any given issue? Most price guides have some numbers, but not for all the commemmorative sets, mint sets, etc. Thanks for any help, Joe |

Most price guides have some numbers, but not for all the
commemmorative sets, mint sets, etc. It's scandalous that this information is not readily available. The US Mint issues press releases from time to time that contain some of the info but not all of it. Nothing on final mintages of NCLT is available on the website. Some numismatic info is obtained by direct contact between reporters/researchers and the Mint. The bottom line is that the US Mint website contains nothing about final mintage numbers of their products. Regards, Tom |

While I haven't read Numismatic News (Krause Publications) in a while and don't know if they still run it, they had a regular column called "Mint Statistics" in which the author gave updates on mintages of products the Mint sold to collectors. ++++++++++ Phil DeMayo - always here for my fellow Stooge When bidding online always sit on your helmet Just say NO to counterfeits |
