Default Slanted Fedora convention - Chicago area

Anyone on the group planning to attend the next Slanted Fedora convention in
Chicago, in March?
I'm keen to find someone who might be interested in picking me up a 'graph
or two from the show, either on a cost or trade basis.

Please let me know!

Cheers

Dax

A guy on another group made a comment that their last several shows
they promoted were canceled before they begun hehe..

I am quite familiar with Slanted Fedora conventions. Just be careful and
never, never, never pay for your tickets in advance. Pay for the ticket you
want at the door the day of the convention. If you pay in advance and the
convention is cancelled, your money will not be refunded under any
circumstances. If you attend the convention, their conventions are usually
really good.

LOL!!! Just went to the link for the Slanted Fedora convention in Chicago and
noticed they are using the photos of Dwight Schultz from my website! One of
them is on my first index page and the other is on my Star Trek Voyager page.
It's expecially easy to recognize since one of them is personalized.

You should be a smartass and email them about it asking for free
tickets for compensation. .

I've been leery of Slanted Fedora myself. Mostly because of misleading
comments. A couple of months ago, I checked their website for something to
do and they were advertising an upcoming con with Colm Meany (spelling?).
There is nothing wrong with that, but they were advertising it as his FIRST
convention in the US. I know for a fact that that is incorrect because he
attending an annual Trek Expo con in Tulsa 2 years earlier.

Yes, Dave can be very misleading, but in regards to Colm Meany, Slanted Fedora
did present him at his first convention in the US about a year before the one
at Trek Expo in Tulsa. SF did not advertise that one very widely, and it was a
small convention in KC. I know this because I attended both of those
conventions. Slanted Fedora's website, unfortunately, is a convuluted mess and
can be misleading. Regarding Dave using my autographed photos, yes, I could
email him about them, but I don't really feel like wasting energy on a
worthless endeavor. Also, as long as he doesn't steal my bandwidth, I really
don't care.

Dave Scott, the promoter of the Slanted Fedora shows is an egomaniac.
I have a dealer friend that told me that he owes TONS of money to
celebrities that have done his show. I've been following his shows
now for about two years, and for the most part, I would say 50% of his
advertised guests end up cancelling.

I went to one of his 'mini shows', and I would bet that he didn't have
50 paid admissions. It was a disaster.
