For Tidewater, VA Readers: ED Hughes (WTKR), RIP
hey gang-
Just thought i'd pass this along-Local broadcast legend Ed Hughes of WTKR has passed away, due to cancer. He will be missed. Although I've seen him out in public on numerous occasions, I never once thought of asking him for an autograph. Just one of those things you kinda take for granted, when you see local celebs... RIP Ed, and thanks for the great news- Pe2 |

Yeah, I see the local radio people out all the time and the newspeople
too occasionally, but never think about asking them. I did get Jeff and MC's autograph, but then MC got fired and Lelia Rice took her plaace... then Jeff quit to run some restaruant, so oh well... Sad about Ed... On Tue, 01 Jun 2004 22:24:44 GMT, "pe2" wrote: hey gang- Just thought i'd pass this along-Local broadcast legend Ed Hughes of WTKR has passed away, due to cancer. He will be missed. RIP Ed, and thanks for the great news- Pe2 I had the opportunity to meed Ed several years ago. This was a genial man with a great sense of humor who didn't seem to take himself to seriously. He was a teriffic reporter and a class act. Rest easy Ed. Brian |
