The date spacing doesn't look quite right to me...

What do you think?

I believe it's real, but the grade is several points high. Looks more like
a strong Fine or weak VF. Let's see what Ira says.

I still wonder...there is more of a gap to the left side of the second
"1" than on the right side. Not nearly as much as on the altered
1944s, but...genuine 14-Ds that I've seen are very evenly spaced
between the "9 1 4" . It's close...a tough call, in my opinion...

I agree the spacing looks a little odd, but there doesn't seem to be enough for
it to be from an altered 1944-D. One thing that did catch my eye was the
vertical line at the upper right of the "1" in the "14". Something definitely
not right.
