Default FA: 1877 Indian Head Cent NGC AU-50 Key to series

Just purchased at the St. Charles, MO show this past week. In the
listing, I comapre this NGC graded AU-50 to a just sold PCGS EF-45 of
this date. The differences are primarly in increasd sharpness of the
AU-50.

In my opinion, BOTH coins have been market graded, the PCGS example
being a VF-35 from a wear standpoint and the NGC example actually an
EF-45 from a wear standpoint. The keys are always market graded now,
and whether I like it or not, the grading companies are grading keys by
$$ value rather than by wear or lack of it.

This topic has been discussed ad infinitum here on RCC. If I want to
buy material like this, I need to play by the rules of the game. If
not, I must leave the playground.

By comparison, the ANACS graded 1914-D 1c I have on eBay, recently
graded (new holder) as AU-53, is, in my opinion, TECHNICALLY graded and
correctly so:
