Book Title: Examen Chronologique des Monnaies frappees par la Communaute des
Macedoniens avant, pendant et apres La Conquete Romaine
My crude English translation: A Chronological Examination of the Coins of
the Macedonians before, during and after the Roman Conquest.

Author: H. Frrdinand Bompois

Specs: 6.25" x 9.25". Hard Cover. Gilt title on cover and spine. 102 Pages.
5 Double facing plates. 1980 Reprint of the 1876 Original. Published by Obol
International, Chicago, IL. Written in French

Brief Summary: Anyone interested in Greek coinage would immediately
recognize those of Macedonia with the bold Club on the reverse. Finding
information on the series can be a bit tricky.

This wonderful old book from 1876 was reprinted due to the demand from
numismatists interested in the series. The author goes into extreme detail
the what and why of the design of the coins as well as the minting cities.
-------------------------

"Anyone interested in Greek coinage would immediately recognize those of
Macedonia" ?!!!

And then a picture of the cover where it shows a Macedonian coin with ...
*GREEK* writing "koinon Makedonon"!!!

In 1876 Greece was not even in its actual size, it was poor and had no money
for "propaganda" and other similar mumbo jumbo...
So even at that time people/scholars were considering Macedonians as Greeks!
And of course no sign of the slav FYROM-ians in the horizon trying to usurp
the name and/or the Greekness of Macedonia!
