New Turkmenistan notes issued

Central Bank issues gold and silver coins in honor of 10th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan The face side of each coin has pictures of the Neutrality Arch erected in the center of Ashgabat, the UN emblem, two olive branches and the sign ³TURKMENISTANYN HEMISELIK BITARAPLYGYNA 10 YYL² (10 YEARS OF PERMANENT NEUTRALITY OF TURKMENISTAN). The back side carries the picture of Turkmenistan¹s state emblem and the sign ³TURKMENISTANYN MERKEZI BANKY 2005² (CENTRAL BANK OF TURKMENISTAN 2005). As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports, a 500 manat silver coin is 25 mm in diameter and made of 925 standard silver and weighs 6,0 gram. A 1000 manat golden coin of the same diameter weighs 13,0 gram. It is made of 916,7 standard gold. In all, there were printed 2000 collection sets of coins. The Central Bank of Turkmenistan has also put into circulation new banknotes of 50 and 100 manat denomination designed to celebrate the forthcoming holiday. |
