Default Greek Art, Hellenistic Period

The first page in a series of three about Greek art is now online:

http://www.arthistos.frac.dk/frame_Style01b-Greek.htm

Interestingly this period of art history, that influenced strongly both the
Thracians and the Etruscans, is not so much illustrated on Greek stamps, but
mostly on Bulgarian Stamps.

The next pages will follow shortly, and will illustrate Greek arts from the
Archaic and Classic periods.

Another great page Mette busy girl!

Regarding Spartacus, I always was under the impression
nobody really knew why he turned back from Gaul, thereby
snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
When Crassus finally won, I believe he crucified all of
Spartacus' army and made a spectacle of them by
erecting the cucifixes for miles along the Appian way.

Thanks Rodney. You are absolutely right -- but since I couldn't find that
number of crucifixion stamps, I removed this information ;-)
