Hi Rodney,

Aha, a closet Ecuador collector. I'll make room in the closet for you
and we can discuss cinderellas and Ecuador.
Are you holding out on Colombia?

I do not know how Cherrystone puts $12,500 on the Ecuador SCADTA
issue. I know my friend who is an expert on Colombia used to advise
Cherrystone and maybe he placed the price on the lot. I'll have
tolook at the lotif it is a recent auction..

G'day Jerry,
concentarting on Ecuador at the moment.

How do you deal with the "appendix" stamps.
Treat them as Cinderellas?

I've got an Albert Schweitzer issue that appears not to be listed
perhaps in "Famous persons"

Hi

The SG appendix stamps are listed by Scott. At one time Scott just
mentioned these stamps, then they listed them without prices and then
with prices. The stamps themselves are hard to find non CTO
( Cancelled To Order ) but they are available. The prices for the
stamps are relatively cheap but since Scott put prices on them the
associated souvenir sheets became very expensive, I think more than
usual. Most dealers sell them for more than Scott. I do see the
sheets listed on eBay and so far have not been able to get the ones I
am missing as the prices go formuch more than Scott. If you have
access to a Minkus catalog they are also listed, including the 'semi
official' FDR issues.

As far as how I treat them it is necessary to note that I do not use
pre-printed albums but quadrilled pages only. Therefore I place these
issue in with the regular stamps in the middle 1950's when they were
issued.

I will make a list of these stamps, and the FDR ones, and put it out
here for all. I really wish I had a scanner so I could display the
catalog pages.

Hi

I forgot to mention. My 1974 Michel does not list these issues.
However, at the back of the Ecuador listings they do have a nice
listing of the 'semi-official FDR stamps.

The Scott catalogues used to have a chapter in the back (also
published as a separate booklet in some years) called "For The Record".
A bunch of disputed stamps used to live there, but have since been
moved into the main catalogue - Ecuador, Paraguay, Panama, Bhutan,
Barbuda, etc. As a young pup, I had all of these For The Record
"labels" lying around in an open box. The family cat spotted it and
decided one day that it made a suitable litter box. Out the box went
into the garbage, and years later, a bunch of those labels turned into
stamps listed in Scott, many of which I still haven't come across again.
Oh well. At least there wasn't a $350 set of Bhutan phonograph record
stamps in there.

You would be pushing to find a record player to play it on these days Ryan.

I have yet to see one of those in my travels.
I do not recall ever seeing a collection of Bhutan at auction.

I look forward to that Jerry,
perhaps I can then post images
of the issues in order.
I use a seperate folder for my Appendix stamps.
