Pen That Can Take Parker Gel Refill
Can Any one suggest a nice but inexpensive ($20) pen that will take the
Parker Gel refills? I tried to use them in a Joter, but my fingers start aching because the jotter is too thin for me to grip. Thanks. -s |

There are several colors and styles to choose from and can be seen at the following link: http://www.nexternal.com/swisher/?CategoryID=349 Hope this helps. Any pen that accepts Parker ballpoint refills, I've seen these referred sometimes as standard European refills, will also accept Parker gel refills. I found the Parker Reflex at Staples and the Parker Vector at a drug store. I got the Flying Colors Syntech (a Japanese pen) for ~$3, IIRC, from Wal-Mart and a rOtring Core online. How about Reflex or Frontier? - Most ballpoint pens of Pelikan - Most or all ballpoint pens of Rotring. -- Juhapekka "naula" Tolvanen * http colon slash slash iki dot fi slash juhtolv ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "jokainen meistä on katkera kunnes on multaa suussa ja runous nousee höyrynä suista. se on tarpeen kaikkialla." Also, I have seen it being called a Roller Ball, not a Ball Point. It confuses me. Can the RB be replaced by Parker Gel refills? Thanks. -s |

If you can spring for $22, you may want to consider a Pelikan Twirl or
a rOtring Freeway. They are both metal pens which are generously proportioned. The rOtring has a plunger type activation. The Twirl is a twist type, as you might expect from its' name. Both take the Parker refill. Someone mentioned the rOtring Core ball point. That should meet your requirement for a heartier grip. However, it's a very funky looking pen. I believe it's out of production, but is still available online. OfficeMax used to carry it. It was in a blister card and in with the other pens. My favorite ballpoint is the rOtring Initial. It's a very nice looking pen. It lists somewhere in the $40's. However, you may find it on eBay in the mid $20's. I carry one in my briefcase in case my fountain pen runs out of ink OR I need to complete a form which requires a ballpoint. The Gel refill fits ballpoint pens, but performs like rollerball. Hope this information helps. David |

Can the RB be replaced by Parker Gel refills? All of the pens shown at the link I provided except for the Twin Tornado can be used with either a Tornado Rollerball refill or a Parker style refill. Thanks. -s I have the same problem because of an old hand injury. Staples office stores sell a 2-pack of a pen called "Delta Elite" for less than $5.00. It's their house brand. They occasionally sell individual units at the cash registers. It takes a Parker ballpoint refill, and Parker now makes a gel refill in the same form factor. I'm not sure if their older gel refills are the same shape. The pen has a fairly wide rounded-triangular cross section, and has a nice rubber grip. My only complaint with the pen is that the clip is extremely stiff. |

I bought one of those last year. I bought it at the register for $1. I
have a Parker Gel refill in it that is about 2 years old. It's triangular in shape with a rubber grip. For the price, yoou can't beat it, although I still prefer the rOtrings and Pelikans when I'm forced to use a ballpoint. David |

I am considering the Freeway seriously. Questions: How does the weight of the Freeway BP compare with the that of rotring 600 and initial? I had found the 600 BP too heavy. Also, is the Freeway BP grip too slippery to grip? Thanks. -s |
