An extreme example from the phossick box.
Cyprus SG3 (I think) mint hinged
to the naked eye looks like an albino.

Yes, I agree,
the first one was probably light or dampness, as it has full gum,
this one, from Nevis, (that Blair also enhanced for me
suffered similarly, but probably immersion.

Could also be water immersion or dampness as these were de La Rue surface
printed with fugitive inks. The OP, however was ordinary letterpress
Black,
oil based.
