Passing along an "Ike"
I was helping a lady in my place of employment a few days ago. She had two
girls with her, apparently her daughters. I suspect they were something like 8 and 10 years of age. I didn't hear the previous context when they walked up to me, but as they came closer to me, the youngest girl said, "But Mom, you know I'm trustworthy." I spoke to the girl and said "Trustworthy is a mighty big word for a little gal like you to be using." She beamed at me and asked, "Wanna hear what it means?" I affirmed that I would indeed like to hear its meaning. She said "Trustworthy means that you do the right thing even when no one is looking." I heaped copious praise on her and told her that I thought she deserved a reward. Whereupon, I pulled out an Ike dollar and placed it in her hand. She was thrilled! Mom and sister also wanted to hold it, and I found out that none of the three had ever had an Ike. I told her that I wanted her to remain trustworthy all through life and she assured me that she would be... It was a nice experience for all concerned, including yours truly. I was helping a lady in my place of employment a few days ago. McDonald's ladies room. Does anyone truly believe his sappy, self-serving load of crap or is this more like the actual experince: I suspect they were something like 8 and 10 years of age and I was immediately sexually aroused. Whereupon, I pulled out MY COCK and placed it in her hand. She was thrilled! Mom and sister also wanted to hold it... ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com ** |

Yes, I do believe it to be an actual experience. In fact, I was one of a few RCC-ers that provided Ikes to Amistad a few years ago. I've known him to be an upstanding guy and quite personable. Along with Ikes, he's given steelies, wheats, and Buffalos as payment and tips. He does this to encourage potential collectors into the hobby. Jerry |

Keep up the good deeds Larry. Thank you, friend. I appreciate the kind and supportive words from each of you good men who have stated your feelings as you have. The foul-mouthed troll deserves no response, and will get none from me. Jerry is certainly correct in saying that I have long been in the habit of giving away Ikes, "steelies", and various other coins on occasion. I have had to use steelies sparingly of late, for I am just about out of them. But I have an adequate supply of Ikes, at least enough to keep me going for a year or so. For the past year or more, I have really been enjoying asking various folks a history question, and rewarding them for a correct (or nearly correct) answer... Living here in Texas, the question I ask the randomly-selected individual is sometimes "What year did Texas become a state?" or "Name the first governor of Texas." In the case of the little girl whom I initially posted about in this thread, her pert demeanor and bright spirit prompted me to share an Ike with her. Long live those who enjoy numismatics and who are willing to encourage others to participate in such a wonderful hobby! Amistad 'pressing on, regardless!' ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com ** |

Your style of writing is positively Victorian in its pompous windiness and sheer boredom factor. The most likely response of mothers seeing you near their children is to grab them by the arm and quickly pull them away while admonishing them not to talk to creepy strangers with coins. ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com ** |

Since you find it to be so unappealing, feel free to skip over any posts that you see me making here in the group. Amistad ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com ** |
