Nice stamp Tony,
why did you opt not to soak off the paper?

I feel that the torn corner would be far more obvious
in that case! I have several others in the set on
similar (but not identical) paper and postmarks, so I think
it was a genuine non-philatelic use.

for my electronic album, I would need to
add the corner via manipulation.
Victor Manta is the expert at that.

It shows how 'improved' an image can be...

I did not waste money on the San Marino stamp illustrated
at http://www.ukcoinpics.co.uk/stamps/sm20l.jpg
but I think despite the missing corner 8-( it makes a better
class of spacefiller!

The stamp (Sassone 158) catalogues at 450 euro...
what a pity the post office clerk tore the stamp before
attaching it to the letter.

I don't think I could put a scanned image on an album page either,
however I certainly have them in my stockbooks.

Again, to each his own. I would be very uncomfortable with a scan on
an album page. But would I be as uncomfortable with an image PRINTED
on the album page? No. Goes to show.

I am not comfortable with scans on album pages either. However what I
do have is scans ( and magazine articles, downloads from the net, and
other relevant material ) in plastic sleeves interleaved in my albums
prior to the relevant set( or space for same ). Again this is for ease
of reference ( I even have references for items on RCSD and other
sites listed!). This does take time "at the time" but saves repeated
times looking up in the future.
