Default Volume control issue on an STD3

Just bought a Seeburg STD3 from an old guy who used to operate jukeboxes. I'm having a problem with the volume cutting out on the left channel. When the volume is low I have very little sound coming out of the left channel. If I start cranking it up when I get over half way I hear some crackling then I get sound out of the left channel and it works fine. Where do I start?

Thanks,

Tony

I'd start with the volume control! Find some good quality Control Spray
and (De-Oxit or MGs Nu-Trol) and use that on the opening of the pot and
turn the volume up/down a few times to clean the wiper surface inside.

If that doesn't work, then you probably need a new (or good used) volume
control.

That worked, the volume now behaves just like it should, I used DeOxit.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

Tony

You are most welcome!
