Default 1935W Liberty Dime Question

Hi Ira,

Looks like you have yourself a 1935 "Mercury" dime (minted in Philadelphia),
which in grade Fine sells for about a dollar.

No, it's worth about a US Dollar. It's a Mercury dime, nothing really
special about it. It's made of 90% silver and collectible, but not one of
the key dates or anything. If you had a whole roll of them, you could be a
"silver hoarder." :-)

So, in essence, I have a dime worth a dime. :-)

Oh what will I spend my windfall on?

Regards and thanks -
Ira.

No, it's worth more than a dime since it's made of 90% Silver.. and contains
..07234 ounces of silver which currently sells for about $4.50 an ounce, so
it's "melt" value is about $0.32, and it also has numismatic value to any
coin collector.

It's not a valuable coin, as coins go, but it is worth more than ten cents..

Hello Ira,
Just to pass along info, the "W" is the initial of the designer of the
coin, Adolph A. Weinman. I'm surprised everyone didn't jump on that
right away. Value still more than a dime. Proud of you for expressing it
as a "Liberty" dime though. Mercury had wings on HIS shoes.

Hello,

I know nothing substantial about US Coins, but I happened across what I
describe as a 1935 Liberty Dime. I've attached a photo.

The dime looks better in real life, versus the attached image. At any rate,
anyone have any remarks about this dime?

Regards and thanks -
Ira.
