Default ......YAHOO Drops CC Requirement For Buyers

--------------
Y_hoo has dropped their Credit Card / Social Security
requirement for buyers.

The Credit Card requirement for buyers was the downfall
for Yahoo Auctions.

Should be better days ahead for Y_hoo Auctions.

This is very good news. Having a credit card doesn't mean
a buyer is a good buyer afterall. After these requirements
went into place years ago, my sales tanked. I sold quite a
bit of ballcards to minors who would send me cash and SASE
and I'd put the cards in the envelopes and send them on
their way.

postcards: Thanks for the childish response but its the
same policy as eBay.
EBay has NEVER required CC#s from buyers. It would destroy eBay.

Same here. I moved my listings to Y_hoo when my eBay
sellthru rates dropped below 50%. I had an immediate
increase in sales and profits (with no fees).

The good times lasted for approximately 1 year, up until
Y_hoo implemented credit card requirements for buyers.

Y_hoo buyers with substantial feedback were blocked from
the site because they would not or could not provide a
CC#. My sales tanked within weeks.

Yahoo should get a boost from this if they spread the word
to all the eBAy buyers. Lots of great buys on yahoo right now!

"Wrong. To be confirmed, a buyer must give ebay their CC#."

Then I assume its not REQUIRED to be confirmed. I buy
on eBay and have not given them a CC#.

All that you currently need to buy on Yahoo auctions
is a Yahoo I.D. and you are good to go. Bigger news
than most sellers probably realize.

-----------------------
If you use aol, earthlink, etc then you do not unless you want to set
up a seller account.

I know that, you know that, and da_lizard knows that,
but qualifying every comment would eliminate all the
"interesting" rebuttals.

The main point being that Yahoo's Credit Card requirement
for ALL buyers, regardless of email address, sent Yahoo
into a downward spiral and has handicapped Yahoo Auctions
for the last 5+ years.

Now that Yahoo has removed all the "improvements" that
destroyed their traffic, it's very likely they will
make a comeback. Sports card listings have climbed from
110,000 to 156,000 in the last few weeks.
