Condition Grading

Had occasion recently to think about that ******* cousin of book
collecting: comic book collecting. Condition is ever so much more
important to comix collectors than to book collectors, I think.
Therefore, their systems of grading are that much more refined and
sophisticated.

I wonder if anyone here thinks that something similar (like a
schematized version of the AB system) ought to be promoted among
online book sellers, particularly on eBay, alibris, half.com, etc.
