Default APMEX - return shipment logistics

I have bought a bunch of the Silver Eagles from APMEX - one for almost every
year since 1986.
And overall, the buying was pretty straight forward and ok.

On a recent batch, there was some spots or discoloration on 2 of the coins,
so I requested a Return - got the email info - and shipped them off with
Tracking.

The tracking shows a confirmed delivery on 3/11 -
BUT - APMEX "can't seem to find the package",
as ..... they receive hundreds of packages every week....

This is probably the only company I have every returned something
where it appears they don't have ANY external RMA tracking number & system
for returns.

Just thought I would share -

Just be patient, some companies are just slower than others in get
info on their computer. They may check the package before making
confirmation and as you said they get hundreds of packages returned a
day. So it may just take couple of day before their inventory is
updated.

Maybe someone misplaced it? I wouldn't do any more business with them
if that is how they operate their business. Did you buy insurance for
it? Maybe the USPS will have a better chance of finding out what is
going on?

---------
they appear to have found it - got placed in wrong stack -
have changed "procedures" to help prevent it happening in future...

I can't do business with them at all. They are not completely honest and
they stack fees. I wish I could, sometimes, because they have Israeli
silver coins that are hard to find elsewhere, but I can't.

So what are some reputable dealers, if not APMEX? I've been out of
active coin collecting for a few years, but am thinking of starting up
again and could use some recommendations.

Thanks,
Trevor

Frank will be glad to sell you some coins, but you have to buy his TV Guides
also!

4/6/13 -
well, the simple replacement of 2 out of 20+ coins
appear to have shipped as per USPS Tracking.
By the time the package arrives,
it will probably have been a MONTH -
