Default Wurlitzer 1800 Record Changer Motor removal

Any tips on the best way to remove the record changer motor from a Wurlitzer 1800,
or things to avoid doing?
Getting a terrible squealing sound so I need to remove it and fix the problem.
TIA

No tricks to removing this gear motor that I can think of.

Check brushes, and condition of the commutator. Clean the gaps between
the commutator conductor segments with a very thin piece of metal or
hard plastic to scrape out the carbon residue. The residue will slow the
motor down if not removed by shorting adjacent commutator segments.

Just be sure to take up all the gear slack when you put it back. Test
after re-installing first by turning the spindle with your fingers, it
should not bind when turning. Best to do a reasonable number of turns to
be sure.
