Nigerian scam has become Dutch scam!
I have just received one of these endless scams, this
time not from a "prince something" somewhere in Africa, but from a seemingly Dutch person, allegedly representing the Economic Society of Netherlands Chamber of Trade and Commerce, and sent from the British provider .tiscali.co.uk. I am amazed to see how these persons are absolutely shameless in their continuous scam, and even more that they now seemingly act also from Europe. I would assume, though, that any Dutch society of the said nature would have an email-address located in Holland, on their own server, and not a public server in GB. Comments? Mette |

Is this the one that has a web site and the billion dollar lottery? The
email tells you you have won several million and they want you to not collect but enter thier billion dollar round, you also absolutely cannot tell anyone but you have to send them your information. The have a web site and nice pictures of people who are supposed to be the lottery employees. It's either Dutch or it could be Belgian. Shell "A.M.Heindorff" wrote in message ... Yes, it is quite amazing that anyone falls for these scams, but a few
weeks ago there was a report in our newspaper about the huge amounts of money that people are still losing because greed wins out over common sense. Canadians have lost tens of millions of dollars to these scamsters, and some have even been killed when they show up in Africa to clain their "windfall". And as long as people fall for the scams, there will be jerks out there who take advantage of the poor sods, if not in Africa or Holland then somewhere else. PT Barnum was right, I'm afraid. There is a sucker born every minute. Arlene Sulllivan |

Nevermind this stuff is illegal in Texas Best I've ever done was $50 on a scratch off ticket for our Texas lottery Shell Well, there is one rule for this... Never, Never, NEVER send Bank Account or Savings Account numbers in reply to requests for personal details! Give an Address, if you must 'find out' what they want, but NOTHING else! David. |

Those things are forbidden in many western countries!!
It is possible to modify the real address from a mail: the from is false and often you must go into the detail of the message to see where it comes! Some viruses make the same. You have to use a filter to send those messages to the basket! I use MOZILLA as browser and and stop now more then 50% of those things. |

They also tried their luck with me about one year ago ;-) Mette The email tells you you have won several million and they want you to not collect but enter thier billion dollar round, you also absolutely cannot tell anyone but you have to send them your information. The worst thing about this is...more spam! By definition, Mette, a spam/scam artist *is* shameless. Somehow our societies have produced people without conscience; in many cases they are incapable of feeling any normal human emotions whatsoever. I read some time ago of a study of delinquent teenagers, who were asked to identify the emotions displayed by drawings of people with differing facial expressions. Many of them were not able to differentiate between expressions anger and happiness. A smile could be as threatening to them as a grimace. They *are* shameless, I know. You should see what I sometimes receive ;-) Sometimes my curiosity bids me to read these posts, and I can do that easily without "opening" it by clicking on "properties" in the menu of my mail program. Mette Before she retired from teaching, my wife became disillusioned by the prevalence of "good kids" in her classes -- even her academic classes -- who had become accomplished liars. Even when she caught them in obvious lies, trying to explain why they hadn't completed an assignment or why they had not been in class, they would try to cover themselves with further lies, all without compunction.* It's hardly surprising: What kind of role models do they see in society? Presidents and prime ministers routinely lie about personal and public matters, and break laws with apparent impunity. Parents are often absent in both physical and emotional senses; we currently have a case of an 11-year-old car thief here in Vancouver who is being watched 24 hours a day by shifts of people who have been hired to do just that, watch him to keep him from stealing cars! Something is wrong with a society that can't control an 11-year-old. Such a society will produce every sort of imaginable criminal in abundance, including scam artists. Bob (a *scan* artist!) :^) * These kids are partly the reason Susan took an early retirement. She couldn't stand being a cop in the classroom any more. It's too bad, because she was a great teacher. |
