$5K - $7.5K coin purcash
I recently have come into some money and want to spend a significant amount
($5K to $7.5K) on a single coin or coins. I am currently collecting the following sets: Slabbed UNC Morgans (29 different) http://coins.www.collectors-society....b= SetListing raw AU/UNC Morgans (52 different) raw UNC Standing Liberty Quarters slabbed MS65 or better 34-47 Walkers (10 different) http://coins.www.collectors-society....b= SetListing & http://coins.www.collectors-society....b= SetListing raw $2.4 Indian gold (8 different) raw UNC Lincolns (Missing only 1909-S/1909-S VDB/1914-D/1914-S/1992 Plain/1923-S/2007-D/2007-S) Any suggestion on want to buy? I am leaning towards a slabbed morgan. Would I be better off to buy a lower graded 1893-S or a MS-65 semi-key? What about the 1911-D $2.5 gold? For this particular purchase I am lokking more for price growth than anything else. dennis |

High grade Morgans, matte proof Lincolns, high grade commems (and not the "modern" stuff), and high grade large cents, which is going to be the next hot market (my personal prediction, not inside info, sorry). I'd stay away from gold. With oil moving up and down the way it's been the last 3 years, there's no telling what that's going to do in the future, and consequently no telling what gold is going to do, other that move down and up in semi-reaction to the price of oil. (Even if a Democrat is elected President of the US in '08). But either way, have fun with it! -- mark |

You may like it so much that you will sell off your modern collection, Morgans etc. and specialise in older coins. Billy |

Rarity + bullion value. If modern gold is not your thing, higrade early gold is a winner too. |
